Pastors Gary and Janis Collette - Lead Pastor/Ministries Facilitator & Women's Pastor![]() Pastor Gary and his wife Janis are the founding pastors of Bread of Life Church. Pastor Gary, born and raised in South Gardner, considers it a privilege to be called by God to shepherd and lead God’s people so close to his home town. Yet, the thought of spending his life in this area was not always the desire of his heart. Like many young people, following his High School Graduation in 1980, he was determined that he was “outta here” as he jokingly reminds us on occasion. There was more in this life that he hungered for and he was willing to venture out to find it. He would soon join the Coast Guard, move to Florida for a few years and eventually begin studying for a degree in accounting. After discovering that the emptiness he felt inside wasn’t being satisfied by career, drinking, drugs or anything this world could offer, he returned home in 1985 to find what he had been looking for all along. Pastor Gary would meet the Lord Jesus Christ and submit his life to Him at Fitchburg Assembly of God in 1987. He would soon receive the call of God to pursue education for the ministry that would lead him to Zion Bible Institute. It was there that he would meet his wife and partner in ministry, Janis. He also met the person of the Holy Spirit and received the calling and anointing to serve the Body of Christ as a Pastor. Besides serving as Lead Pastor at Bread of Life, Pastor Gary also serves on the Board of Trustees at Zion Bible College in Haverhill and as Presbyter of the Central MA Section of the Southern New England District of the Assemblies of God.
